 Nejoud Al-Yagout Releases Second Novel

Writer and founder of Co-Exist Kuwait releases her second novel When the Haboob Sings.

Kuwait – Nejoud Al-Yagout released her groundbreaking second novel When the Haboob Sings from Gatekeeper Press.

Book Description:

When Dunya Khair writes a controversial article in the newspaper challenging the status quo, the response—ranging from adulation to death threats—is swift. Faced with the dissolution of familial ties and the prospective collapse of her marriage, alongside a looming nervous breakdown, Dunya’s consequent actions exemplify both the strength and the frailty of the human spirit. When the Haboob Sings paints a poignant picture of a woman whose unshakeable resolve to preserve her authenticity costs her more than she ever imagined.

About the Author:

Nejoud Al-Yagout is a novelist, poet, and essayist. This is her second novel. Though she is Kuwaiti, Al-Yagout has lived in many countries—Italy, UK, Pakistan, China, and the UAE—and considers herself, and others, souls of the universe. She is the founder of Co-Exist Kuwait, an initiative to bridge cultural, racial, ideological, social and financial divides in her country. Al-Yagout dares to venture into the territory of subjects brushed beneath the proverbial carpet, challenging members of her society to face their prejudices and transcend them through love and acceptance. She gives voice to the voiceless and envisions a society where conservatives and liberals coexist.

When the Haboob Sings is available as a Paperback on Amazon and other online retailers.
